Sol Andersson works and resides in Stockholm. Currently getting back to performing noise/feedback/techno sets and working on N001se releases.
Commissioned works include compositions for acoustic ensembles and electronics, electroacoustic compositions, interactive sounding art and sounding installations. Performances at festivals such as Intonal, Art’s Birthday, NYMUS, Vindöga, Norberg, Hultsfred. Her electroacoustic and audio-visual works have also been performed at museums and galleries and art spaces located in Sweden such as Bonniers konsthall, Media Artes, Platform, Rumtiden. Ohrenhoch (Berlin).
Formal studies include BA and MA in electroacoustic composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and a practice based Ph.D. in music at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. Her thesis “Freeing Sound: Attunement, Guerrilla Actions and Feedback as Creative Strategies in Sounding Art” can be downloaded here. It describes attuning as a method of disciplined multisensory training in stages of preparation to be used during performances such as Guerrilla actions. A guerrilla action is used as a method to negotiate the dynamic power between artistic authority and a potential audience in unexpected sites.
